Cheque Requests
Our treasurer requests that cheque requests be submitted by the 15'th of the month whenever possible.
Our Community Treasurer has developed two standard forms to fill out when submitting a cheque request. It is very important that when you submit this form you include all relevant receipts. This is the only way we can assure that your club receives its refund of any HST paid.

Guidelines for Deposit
Our current Community Treasurer can always be reached at treasurer@oakvillespecialolympics.org
Guidelines for turning money in to be deposited
All money to be deposited to a club's account must be turned into the treasurer on the SOO Oakville community council, to be deposited. Cheques or Money Orders only, cash will not be accepted.
Cheques
This is important. In order to ensure all cheques be deposited to Oakville's account they must be made out to SOO Oakville Then in the description or memo space add Club name.
Our community council treasurer then makes up the deposit slips, endorses the cheques and sends them to Special Olympics Ontario (SOO) to be deposited.
Cash
Please note that if cash is being collected that the person doing the collecting will then need to convert to a money order or write a cheque as specified above for the amount in order to turn it in. Cash will not be accepted.
Budgets
Fiscal Year
The fiscal year for SOO - Oakville coincides with the fiscal year for SOO, which runs from July 1 until June 30. For this reason budgets for the coming year MUST be submitted to the Treasurer by May 31 so they can be voted on at the June meeting.
Standard Club Budget Form
Our treasurer also has a standard blank form for the club budget. We have this form available for download in two formats:
- BudgetTemplate.xls which you may be able to fill out on your computer then print out to submit.
- BudgetTemplate.pdf which you can print out and complete.
